Â鶹¸ßÇå Marine Natura

Marine Natura is the network of areas designated to conserve natural habitats and species of wildlife, which are rare, endangered or vulnerable in the European Â鶹¸ßÇå.

Between 2003 and 2005 Â鶹¸ßÇå and Bute Council, in partnership with Scottish Natural Heritage, and with match funding from Leader +, employed Marine Natura Officers to facilitate the development of Management Plans for Loch Creran and the Firth of Lorn Special Areas of Conservation.

There are 7 marine Special Areas of Conservation in Â鶹¸ßÇå and Scottish Government updated management measures for these sites in 2015 as part of a national consultation on management for existing natura sites and new Marine Protected Areas.
