Â鶹¸ßÇå and Bute Council has welcomed today’s news that it will receive up to £20 million of capital funding from the UK Government for local growth projects in the area.

A new fully-accessible, fuel-efficient, Â鶹¸ßÇå and Bute Council bus is taking on a route in Campbeltown to help travellers get to where they need to be.

Work has started on a project in Campbeltown that will see residents benefit from better walking and cycling routes along the town’s Cutting and Quarry Green.

Â鶹¸ßÇå Food Groups across Â鶹¸ßÇå and Bute have benefitted from a share of £57,453 after councillors agreed to provide them with unspent monies from the Scottish Government’s LACER Fund (Local Authority Covid Economic Recovery).

Following feedback from local communities in Mid Â鶹¸ßÇå, Â鶹¸ßÇå and Bute Council has commissioned a team of consultants to develop a detailed design for a proposed new route that will make it safer and easier for people to choose to walk and cycle between Lochgilphead Front Green and the Crinan Canal.

The £70 million rural growth deal for Â鶹¸ßÇå and Bute will progress following a spending review by the UK Government.

Additional funding, secured by Â鶹¸ßÇå and Bute Council will help increase capacity at Thomson Court Care Home on Rothesay enabling more residents on Bute to stay on the island and access health and social care.
